Started at 10c and peaked about 17c, partly cloudy.

For those of you with an itinerary THROW it out! This is Ox’s show now. WOOHOO.

We did 85km today, average speed 21km. Ride was Tibetan flat – so we lost about 119m of elevation and then gained it back and added a bit more cause why not? We are at nearly 3600m. Mike was awesome – he pulled the last 40km so that Dale, Dave and I could draft; heaven given the incredible head wind that came up after lunch. We followed the river downstream and then upstream. Th mountains were glorious in the distance. Calories burned: 2611.

Road repairs.

Lunch was in a Tibetan family home – Yak Momos and Tibetan noodle soup, warm sweet tea – delicious. Camp is at the side of the road – can hear all sorts of vehicles going by from the tut tut of small tractors to big 18 wheelers. On the other side is a traditional Tibetan farm, tools are old school pulled by Yaks.

Yak Momos.

Tents set up, bathroom is awesome. Back to Euchre – we had switched partners and Farid continued to play with Perry (the opposition now) – somehow we won.

Dinner was rice, curry veggie topping, side curried beet, beef, lental and chicken mushroom soup.

Early to bed. Tomorrow starts with a 23km uphill.
