Day 4: day 3 on trail

76.7 km
1261m ascent

Suneet rode the first leg of the morning and I drove the Tacoma. These guys had a crazy tremendous climb and made it up to the top in amazing time. We then went to visit the caves, had some lunch, and then we were back on the road with 46 km remaining. Suneet took the wheel on the Tacoma and I got on the bike.

We set off and it was glorious. Farid put up the drone to take some footage and of course the drone decided to have a mind of its own, and instead of following Farid followed who knows what and we actually don’t know where it is at this point.

We started an epic downhill which was glorious. And then unfortunately, the rain started to come, sheets of it, and we still had quite a way to go. Nonetheless, all the different shades of green in the verdant countryside as we passed were remarkable. We crossed Perry River and did some awesome descent with the maximum speed of 69.5 KPH.

We arrived in the lovely town of Tahsis (pop. 400). We were soaking wet. The campground was full and we somehow missed our Tacoma and RV. We ended up in the local little grocery store, gas station, and were able to get them to open the restaurant so that we could have poutine. Farid’s wish of french fries and a toilet were fulfilled. We bought a couple of T-shirts to get out of our wet jerseys and chilled waiting for the team to meet up. They ended up finding us a spot in an RV camp on the water with showers and laundry facilities, meaning it was magical.
