Cayembe

Pretty relaxed start to the day. Leisurely brekkie and a few Americanos to get the juices flowing.

Met in lobby with all the kit. Shaun wanted us to trim down for the refuge to only the necessities but as Suneet said ‘if it was important enough to bring to Quito why wouldn’t I bring it?’

In any case we all trimmed down to our pack and one duffle ….. and then came the rest….30$ worth of PB, 50$ worth of coffee, 3 small French presses, our own kettle, chips, salami and of course how could I forget – choco- I did tell you that Ecuador is known for its choco right?? So I’m embarrassed (but only a wee bit) to say we have at least 3 lbs of choco. I mean I get we’re on expedition but do we need to suffer??

Long bus drive to the town of Cayambe where we met the 4×4 to drive us in to the refuge.
