Day 6: Why bother staying in the boat?
We started the day with a leisurely morning. We finished the coffee up at Brodrick hut. That meant about a half cup for each of us, which was just definitely not enough.
There was low cloud cover, but thankfully it burned off. We started to play some cards waiting for the chopper to come in. It was a bit delayed, but came in. What a beauty. We had an awesome chopper ride up and over Broderick pass to the other side where he corkscrewed down to the river to drop us off.
The boats, guides and importantly an awesome buffet of fresh veg were waiting. After 4d of MRE the buffet was heaven.
Dave continued on the chopper to get some help for his knee. We will catch up with him in the biking section.
We got all our gear sorted, into the wetsuits, got the paddles. got all the instructions off we went. Oh what a ride. The guides were amazing!!
In a couple sections, the guides had to stop the boats and then pull aside, tie up and run down the shore to scout and ensure that the rapids were runnable. We had to walk past one section that was too rough.
In one of the big runs we were the second boat coming through and as we came through this big hole all I could see were bodies in the water in front of us. Perry and Farid and our guide Elke ejected out of the boat and into the churn. The footage is outrageous. Paddles everywhere. They were pulled back into the boat. Everybody was safe and no injuries happened. We ran a bunch more awesome rapids. The guides were amazing and we got to camp INTACT. They got a big fire going and we had an outdoor barbecue, a little bit of wine and then into the tents for a good night sleep well learned. Tomorrow we start all over again in the boats.

That looked insane. Glad you all got back into the boat and safely through the rapids.
So are we!
Ejected is the right word! Looked like the boat burped you out… stay dry.
Burped sounds right too!
