Matthew Antolin’s legacy continues to live on.

A former patient of the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, 27-year-old Matthew passed away in December 2012 while awaiting a heart transplant.

His friend, Cayse Ruiter is biking from Tofino to St. John’s in his memory, to raise awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation. Currently, there are more than 4,500 people waiting for a life-saving transplant in Canada.

His journey will begin on Monday, June 3 in Tofino, British Columbia and he will cycle across the country to St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Follow his journey through Twitter (@OutliveCanada) and register your consent for organ and tissue donation in Ontario at beadonor.ca.
